Absurdism – An Approach to Writing Meaningful Fiction

Theme isn’t the characters or the storyline or the original idea that started the story. For example, a writer could start with the idea of exploring family connections between girls, but as his story progresses, his theme may shape up as understanding and forgiveness between different generations of females.

Theme is implied, sometimes without the writer’s understanding of it in the beginning; nonetheless, more seasoned writers usually work on their subject harder than any other part of the narrative as soon as they catch on to what it is they’re writing about.

Even when the plot is all about something out of the author’s imagination which might not emotionally involve us the narrative becomes memorable if the theme makes itself known. We might not care for Luke Skywalker’s intergalactic triumph as much as we care about good winning over evil. Theme is very important to the overall success of almost any piece of fiction. When managed deftly, it will become a loyal servant to any writer. All right, we have gone over the first couple of points concerning i was reading this, of course you recognize they play an important role. But there is so much more that you would do well to study.

They will serve you well, though, in more ways than you realize. Once your understanding is more complete, then you will feel more self-confident about the subject. But we have saved the best for last, and you will know what we mean once you have read through.

In summary, you will enjoy reading science fiction tales if you are interested in futuristic science fiction. You can learn about scientific discoveries that are real in addition to those who are composed by the author. It may also enable you to deal with the stress you’re facing. You can escape the issues in your present situation into a new fictitious world.

Use your experiences to make the story come to life. If you’ve been hurt, write it down. If you’ve been scared, write it down. In case you’ve ever been in love, fooled, overjoyed, given birth, then buried a pet, been in an accident, run a race, or had your heart broken, write it down. All these are the things that can make your story worth reading no matter what it is about. Using your imagination doesn’t mean you make up everything from scratch. Just ask yourself “what if” and plug in your own experiences. This is what keeps the readers engaged , and turning page after page. Be yourself and keep on writing.

The reader is required to realize that the character clearly doesn’t understand the subject of Philosophy is broken down into many subdivisions; she signed up for a class in Mathematical Logic, a la Gottlob Frege, when what she wanted was a course in Ethics. However, if the reader doesn’t know this, or doesn’t have the capacity to research it, the entire passage will be hieroglyphics. This is what I mean by Fiction Enhanceable by Internet – the job becomes infinitely more interesting, understandable, enjoyable, and appreciable. You can always check different fiction stories for reference.

Let us begin with Tripmaster Monkey. Kingston’s novel is erudite, and also her erudition is mainly responsible for what concerns me here. How so? Only this – the very first chapter (I’m using the first paperback Vintage edition of July, 1990) runs from page to page thirty five. In that space I count forty references to either literature or theatre. (The remainder of the book is much the same, though perhaps not in quite so high of a ratio.) I will list a few of them soon for purposes of illustration.

Character development can be one of the most important things about writing fiction. You want to produce a realistic set of personalities to move your plot along and to do that you want to know them. But how much can you really have to know about these before you begin writing?

Fiction by character is something considered, not accurate, or not potential. Yet a number of the best Science Fiction is that making you suspend your disbelief. We know for example that a man cannot fly, but I’ve lost track of how many “Superman” films are out there. Some rely on special effects, to ooh and ahh the viewers. Some try to impress with specialized jargon and new creations that produce the impossible possible. But the very best approach to overcome the impossible is by focusing in fact. Actual emotions, real fears, and doubts are indications of good character development. Since in the actual world, individuals are what life is all about.

One additional approach to emphasize the motif is through all of the characters in a story, with each character representing an element of the theme, as in Godfather tales when the theme of power is introduced with each character representing another aspect of electricity.

Theme is most observable in the protagonist’s best choice in a story. The easiest way to pinpoint a theme is to set it in question form. Here the question to ask is: what’s the protagonist’s biggest psychological choice to solve the story’s battle?

If the theme envelopes an emotion, its power becomes universal. After the author creates and dramatizes his subject through an emotion, his expression of the fact leaves an unforgettable effect on the reader. Thus an ambitious writer could pick an emotion because the big part of the theme.
